DIRECTOR - FINANCE & ACCOUNTING SHARED SERVICES

Job Summary: The Director of Finance & Accounting Shared Services will lead the finance and accounting shared services team, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations across the organization. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and team management to support the company's financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans for the shared services center, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall business objectives

  • Team Management: Recruit, hire, and onboard a high-performing team of accounting and finance professionals. Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members.

  • Financial Operations Setup: Establish and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Compliance and Control: Design and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the shared services operations.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior management and other departments to ensure alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Audit Support: Oversee internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.

  • Technology Integration: Partner with IT to identify and implement robotics and automation opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, MBA, or related field. CPA or equivalent local degree is a plus.

  • 15+ years of progressively more complex roles in accounting, preferably some within a shared services environment.

  • Strong financial modeling skills with Excel / Alteryx, knowledge of accounting processes and policies, internal control and reporting standards, SOX compliance, general ledger and GAAP.

  • Certifications like CMA / CPA with PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or other relevant certifications.

  • Proven track record of improving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
